The take up lever stroke is the amount of vertical distance that the take-up lever travels from bottom dead center to top dead center. This distance should be between 49-51 millimeters.
Note: Measurement of the take-up lever stroke must be done with the grabber blade mounted.
Clamp a ruler to the base casting and hang a weight (approximately 10-12 grams) to the take up lever so that it hangs adjacent to the scale on the ruler as shown in Figure 1 below.
Figure 1: Take-Up Lever Stroke Measurement
Press the E-stop button (in case the machine is powered up), rotate the z-shaft manually through a complete cycle and take note of the measurement at the top dead center (TDC) and the bottom dead center (BDC) of the take-up lever stroke. Take the measurements several times to ensure a consistent measurement. The difference between the TDC and BDC measurements of the take-up lever is the take-up lever stroke measurement. This measurement should be between 49mm and 51mm.
Currently, no process to adjust the take-up lever stroke has been defined.
If the take-up lever stroke exceeds the 49-51mm specification, email QualityAssurance@melco.com for instructions.
