E D S   I I I   Q u i c k   R e f e r e n c e
START UP SEQUENCE:
  1. Click on File in the Application window
  2. Click on New

LOAD THE IMAGE ON THE SCREEN:

  1. Click on EDIT
  2. Click on Scan/Graphics
  3. Click on Load/Graphics
  4. Click in the Open Graphic dialog box to go to the graphic file you want
  5. Click on OK to load the graphic onto the screen

SET UP ON-SCREEN DIGITIZING:

  1. Click on Edit
  2. Click on Digitize (Source of Digitizer)
  3. Choose On Screen

TURN ON CONDENSED POINTS:

  1. Click on View
  2. Click on Display Mode
  3. Click on Condensed Points
  4. Click on OK

SET THE DENSITY:

  1. Click on the FNC Tool
  2. Click on the Column Density
  3. Enter a value in the Function Value pts test box
  4. Click on OK
  5. Click on Exit

 

 

THE DIGITIZING SESSION:

STARTING THE DESIGN:

  1. Click on the Needle Up Tool
  2. Click on the MK1 tool
  3. Click where you want to Start the design
  4. Click on the Normal Stitch tool
  5. Click at The Same Starting Point
  6. Continue the digitizing process

ENDING THE SESSION:

  1. Click on the Needle Up Tool
  2. Click on the FNC Tool
  3. Click on Return to Origin
  4. Click on Edit
  5. Click on Digitize
  6. Click on End

SAVING THE DESIGN:

  1. Click on File
  2. Click on Save As
  3. Type in Directory, Design, and File Type
  4. Click on OK

 

 

TO END A SESSION IN THE MIDDLE OF A DESIGN:

TO STOP THE SESSION:

  1. Click on Edit
  2. Click on Digitizer
  3. Click on End
  4. Click on File
  5. Click on Save As
  6. Give it a name
  7. Click on File
  8. Click on Close

TO COMPLETE THE DIGITIZING SESSION:

  1. Click on File
  2. Click on Open
  3. Pull up the named design
  4. Click on the object on the screen to highlight it with a box
  5. Click on the bottom tool on the screen
  6. Click on Edit
  7. Click on Digitize
  8. Click on On Screen
  9. Click on Start

LOAD IMAGES:

  1. Click on Edit
  2. Click on Scan/Graphics
  3. Click on Load/Graphics
  4. Click on the Open Graphic dialog box to go to the graphic file you previously saved
  5. Click OK to load the graphic onto the screen

FINISH YOUR DESIGN:

 

 

EDS3 EDITING QUICK REFERENCE

EDITING WHILE DIGITIZING:

Moving Through a Design:

  1. Click with the mouse on the Up Arrow or Down Arrow on the screen in the tool list
  2. Press the Up or Down Arrow on the keyboard
  3. Click on the desired Mark Point on the screen with the mouse. This highlights the Mark on the stitch list
  4. Click on the desired dataset in the stitch list

Moving a Mark Point:

In each of the following methods, first use one of the previous methods for moving through a design to get to the Mark Point which you wish to move

  1. Hold down the Shift key and use the 4 Arrow keys on the keyboard to move the Mark Point to the desired location
  2. Click, hold, and drag the Mark Point with right mouse button
  3. Press Enter on the keyboard and change the X and Y coordinates in the dialog box. Then click OK

Changing a Mark Point (example: change a MK1 to a MK2):

Highlight the MK Point you wish to change, using one of the 4 methods for moving through a design

  1. Double click on the MK point in the stitch list with the mouse. A dialog box will appear. Click on the desired Mark Point and then click OK
  2. Hold the Alt key and press the number key on the keyboard which corresponds with the desired Mark Point number

Swapped MK2's:

This is when two MK2's forming a column are swapped forming a "bowtie" effect.

  1. Find the first MK2 of the pair
  2. Press the F2 key on the keyboard one time. The 2 MK2 coordinates will swap each other
  3. Click on View in the Layout window menu bar
  4. Click on Regenerate in the drop down menu

Forgotten Lock Stitches:

Lock stitches cannot be digitized for they will go to the end of the stitch list

  1. Click on the last stitch in the design where the locks should be located
  2. Make sure the stitch list is on the screen
  3. Click on the Function Insert Mode Switch (the bottom tool)
  4. Click on the MK1 tool
  5. Place the MK point where desired in the design by clicking on the screen in that location
  6. Repeat for 2 or 3 more stitches to form a lock stitch pattern

No MK point in the Centerpoint (or 2 MKs in the Centerpoint):

  1. Click on the Design (a box will form around it)
  2. Click on the Mode Switch Tool
  3. Click on the Stitch List tool
  4. Click on View
  5. Click on Zoom In
  6. Click on Hold the Magnifying Glass on the upper left corner of the area you want to Edit and Drag the Magnifying Glass to the lower right corner of that area, forming a box around the area
  7. Make the necessary correction
    1. Click a MK point on the Object where the change is needed
    2. Double click on the Mark that is highlighted in the Design List
    3. Change your Mark point to a different one, or change your X and Y coordinates
    4. Click on OK
  8. Click on View and choose Regenerate

Fill is Not Parallel (ONLY for perfect horizontal or vertical:

  1. Click on the Mark point that is not parallel - one of your MK1's that outline the fill
  2. Check the X and Y coordinates on the stitch list, making sure the pair's X or Y coordinates match numerically, EXACTLY
  3. Change the values by using the Shift key and the 4 arrow keys on the keyboard to move the Mark point. OR Double click on the Mark point entry in the dialog box on the screen
  4. Click on View
  5. Click on Regenerate

 

EDS3 TABLET DIGITIZING QUICK REFERENCE

START UP SEQUENCE:

Set Up The Artwork:

  1. Tape the artwork to the digitizing tablet
  2. Find the center point of the design and with a pencil mark an X
  3. Measure the artwork
  4. Determine the scale factor by dividing the desired size by the actual size

Set Up The Computer:

  1. Click on File
  2. Click on New
  3. Click on Edit
  4. Click on Digitizer (Source of Digitizer)
  5. Set your scale factors
  6. Click on Start
  7. Set your Moveable Menu (if necessary)
    1. Click on Move
    2. At the Tablet, enter a MK1 at the lower left corner of the Menu and a MK1 at the upper left corner of the Menu
    3. Set the Densities and the Fills (Setup dialog box)
    4. Click on Setup
    5. Click on Densities
    6. Click Set your Fills
    7. Click on OK
  8. Click on Exit (Digitizer is Active)

Turn on Condensed Points:

  1. Click on View
  2. Click on Display
  3. Click on Condensed Points
  4. Click on OK

Set Stitch List in Layout Window:

  1. Click on the Point Edit tool
  2. Click on the Stitch List tool

Set Origin:

  1. Enter a MK1 at the penciled X (or center point) of your design Set the Horizontal (at the Tablet)
  2. Enter a MK1 on the Set Horizontal box.
  3. Find a straight line on the artwork.
  4. Enter a MK1 on the left hand and a MK1 on the right of the straight line

Set the Density (if Digitizing columns):

  1. Enter a MK1 on the Col. Density box
  2. Enter a MK1 on the Numbers or Letter of the desired density
  3. Enter a MK1 on the Enter box

Set the Stitch Length:

  1. Enter a MK1 on the Stitch Length box
  2. Enter a MK1 on the numbers of the desired Stitch Length

THE DIGITIZING SESSION:

Starting the Design:

  1. Enter a MK1 on the Needle Up box
  2. Enter a MK1 where you want to Start the design
  3. Enter a MK1 on the Normal Stitch box
  4. Enter an MK1 At The Same Starting Point
  5. Continue the digitizing process

Ending the Design:

  1. Enter a MK1 on the Needle Up box
  2. Enter a MK1 at the X Center Point
  3. Enter a MK1 on the Normal Stitch box
  4. At the computer click on Edit
  5. Click on Digitize
  6. Click on End
  7. Click on Yes

Saving the Design:

  1. Click on File
  2. Click on Save As
  3. Type in Directory, Design, and File Type
  4. Click on OK

TO END A SESSION IN THE MIDDLE OF THE DESIGN:

To Stop the Session:

  1. Click on Edit
  2. Click on Digitizer
  3. Click on End
  4. Click on File
  5. Click on Save As
  6. Give it a name
  7. Click on File
  8. Click on Close

To Complete the Digitizing Session:

  1. Click on File
  2. Click on Open
  3. Pull up the named design
  4. Click on the object on the screen to highlight it with a box
  5. Click on the bottom tool on the screen. Click on Edit
  6. Click on Digitize
  7. Set the Exact same scale factors
  8. Click on Start
  9. Set the Same center
  10. Set the SAME horizontal
  11. Click on the Stitch List Tool
  12. Finish your design
