Part Replacement Instruction

Product: EMC 1MTL and EMC 6MTL

Part Replaced: Needle Plate

Required Tools:

	2.5mm Allen Wrench
	Flat Blade Screw Driver

Procedure:

1. Turn the peripheral off

CAUTION: Removing the Needle Plate with the power turned on will cause damage to the Bobbin Detect Circuit, and may cause damage to the CPU Board.

2. Remove the Front Bed Cover Screws. See the diagram on the following page.
3. Remove the Front Bed Cover.
4. Remove the Needle Plate Screws.
5. Slightly lift the Needle Plate and swivel it to the side.
6. Disconnect the Bobbin Sensor Flex Cable from the Bobbin Detect Harness, located under the Trim Connector Link.
7. Connect the new Bobbin Sensor Flex Cable to the Bobbin Detect Harness.
8. Swivel the Needle Plate to its mounting position.

CAUTION: Take care not to damage the sensors attached to the underside of the Needle Plate while repositioning the Plate.

9. Install the Needle Plate Screws.
10. Reposition the Front Bed Cover.
11. Install the Front Bed Cover Screws.
