R e c o m m e n d e d   C o n f i g u r a t i o n   f o r   M i d p o i n t   a n d   S u m m i t   L e v e l s   o f   E D S   I V
Following are the recommended computer requirements. These requirements are strongly recommended for Midpoint and Summit levels of EDS IV.

Motherboard Chip Set and ISA Slots If a Melco Network PCB is to be used for communicating to Melco EMC equipment, at least 1 ISA slot is needed, and the motherboard MUST have an Intel Chip Set.
Operating System Windows 98/ME/2000 If a ISA Melco Network PCB is needed, Windows 98 or Windows ME Must be used.

Incompatible Hardware
bulletIf operating a  ISA Melco Network PCB ("StarLan Connection") the motherboard must have an Intel ChipŠ set, the VIAŠ chip sets do not work with a ISA Melco Network or StarLan PCB.
bulletTrident Accelerator video card
bulletScanmaker E3 and C6 scanners by Microtek
bulletIf older EMC Melco Embroidery Machines need to be connected to the computer, the motherboard of the computer must use an Intel ChipŠ Set in order for a Melco Network PCB to work correctly. It has been found the VIAŠ chip set will not support a Melco Network PCB correctly.
