*** Optional Scanner should be capable of 300DPI, Color, 8.5" x 11" (or larger), flatbed recommended. It is not recommended to use scanners that connect to the printer port, as they may interfere with dongle connections. Scanners that utilize a USB connection are recommended over SCSI or Parallel.

Incompatible Hardware
bulletIf operating a ISA Melco Network PCB ("StarLan Connection") the motherboard must have an Intel Chip© set, the VIA© chip sets do not work with the ISA Melco Network or StarLan PCB.
bulletTrident Accelerator video card
bulletScanmaker E3 and C6 scanners by Microtek
bulletIf older EMC Melco Embroidery Machines need to be connected to the computer, the motherboard of the computer must use an Intel Chip Set in order for a Melco Network PCB to work correctly. It has been found the VIA chip set will not support a Melco Network PCB correctly.

In order to use Melco format on 3.5", diskettes, you need a floppy disk controller capable of reading and writing to Single Density disks. If the controller utilizes a Goldstar chip set, it normally meets this requirement. You may read/write Melco Condensed and Expanded format on DOS formatted disks without a special controller card.

Computer hardware and operating system must be Year 2000 compliant.
