Click on the lettering tool on the Input toolbar.
Left-click on the screen workspace (View Window) where you want your lettering text to appear (notice the cursor arrow has an A attached to it).
The Lettering Properties box is displayed in your screen.
To add color changes between specific letters, you can use the F6 key on the keyboard or click on the color change tool in the lettering dialog box.
Click on the Lettering tool .
Left-click on the screen workspace (View Window) where you want your lettering text to appear (notice the cursor arrow has an A attached to it).
Type "Melco" in the text space.
Place your cursor (left-click) between the "M" and the "e" of word "Melco."
Click on the color change tool (notice the ^ is inserted).
Click on OK.
Double-click on the text to adjust further.
To add or subtract spacing between specific letters, you can use the F7 or F8 keys on the keyboard or click on the or tools in the lettering dialog box.
Click on the Lettering tool .
Left-click on the screen workspace (View Window) where you want your lettering text to appear (notice the cursor arrow has an A attached to it).
Type "Melco" in the text space.
Choose "Melco Block" alphabet.
Change letter height to 1 inch.
Click on OK (notice the spacing needs to be adjusted between certain letters).
Double-click on the lettering to select the lettering.
Place your cursor (left-click) between the "M" and the "e" of the word "Melco."
Click on the to insert < for less spacing.
Click on the to insert a > for positive spacing.
Click on OK.
Double-click on the text to adjust further.
To add a trim command between specific letters, your can use the F9 key on your keyboard or click on the Trim tool in the lettering dialog box.
Click on the Lettering tool .
Left-click on the screen workspace (View Window) where you want your lettering text to appear (notice the cursor arrow has an A attached to it).
Type "Melco" in the text space.
Place your cursor (left-click) between "M" and the "e" of the word "Melco."
Click the Trim tool (notice the '€' inserted).
Click on the Lettering tool .
Left-click on the screen workspace (View Window) where you want your lettering text to appear (notice the cursor arrow has an A attached to it).
Type "Melco Embroidery" in the text space.
Click on Place Letters On Arc.
Check the Arc Properties button.
The Arc Properties dialog box is displayed.
7. You can now change the Arc values.
8. Click on OK.
9. Click on OK again to apply your changes and get back to the View Window.
Click on the Lettering tool .

Click on the Column Tab.
The Column Width is in this dialog box.
Click on the Lettering tool .
Left-click on the screen workspace (View Window) where you want your lettering text to appear (notice the cursor arrow has an A attached to it).
Click on the Column Tab.
You should see Density in this dialog box.
Click on the Lettering tool .

Click on the Column Tab.
Click on the Primary Underlay pull-down menu to choose the different types of underlay.
Click on the Lettering tool .
Left-click on the screen workspace (View Window) where you want the lettering text to appear (notice the cursor arrow has an A attached to it).
Type in the text.
Place the lettering in the View Window by clicking OK.
Click on the Center Design tool on the Input toolbar.
The design will now be centered.

Type "Melco" in the text space.
Select "Athletic Block" Alphabet .
Change letter height to .75.
Click on OK.
You will see solid black handles around the text "Melco."
8. Right-click on the lettering and select Rotate\Transform from the pop-up menu.
(You can also left-click on the text, hold down the left mouse button for 1 second, then release the left mouse button.)
You will notice the black diamonds control points in the corners. You can drag these in any direction to transform the lettering text.
9. You can also insert input points on the
line around the lettering text to transform even more.
Left-clicking ANYWHERE on the line with
the mouse will give you a straight input point (notice the arrow is different,
it changes to a ).
Right-clicking ANYWHERE on the line with the mouse will give you a curved input point (notice the arrow is different, it changes to a ).
10. Once the points have been inserted, click, hold and drag them to transform (click here to see common transformations)
11. To delete an input point, select the point and press the delete key on the keyboard.
12. To select more than one input point, hold the control key down and left click on each one.
13. To switch the lettering text back to the solid scaling boxes, left click on any void area on the screen and then back on the lettering text.
Pennant - With the left mouse button, select the upper right triangle control point. Hold down the CTRL key and select the lower right corner point. Hold down the SHIFT key and drag it away from the word. This works with all four corner points of the word.
Slanting - With the left mouse button, select the upper right triangle control point. Hold down the CTRL key and select the lower right triangle point. Click on one of these points and drag it away from the word. This works with all four corner points of the word.
Bilinear - Select any of the corner triangle control points. With the left mouse button, click and drag in any direction.
Upper Bridge - Click the right mouse button on the line below the text (this will insert a circular control point). With the left mouse button, click on the point and drag it upward.
Lower Bridge - Click the right mouse button on the line above the text (this will insert a circular control point). With the left mouse button, click on the point and drag it downward.
Vertical Bridge (upper) - Click the right mouse button on the line above the text (this will insert a circular control point). With the left mouse button, click on the point and drag it upward.
Vertical Bridge (lower) - Click the right mouse button on the line below the text (this will insert a circular control point). With the left mouse button, click on the point and drag it downward.
Vertical ARC (upper) - Click the right mouse button on the line above the text (this will insert a circular control point). Click the right mouse button on the line below the text (this will insert a circular control point). Hold down the CTRL key and left click the other circular control point. Hold down the ALT key, click on one of these points and drag it upward.
Vertical ARC (lower) - Click the right mouse button on the line above the text (this will insert a circular control point). Click the right mouse button the line below the text (this will insert a circular control point). Hold down the CTRL key and left click the other circular control point. Hold down the ALT key, click on one of these points and drag it downward.
Ballooned - Click the right mouse button on the line above the text (this will insert a circular control point). Click the right mouse button the line below the text (this will insert a circular control point). Hold down the CTRL key and left click the other circular control point. Hold down the SHIFT key, click on one of these control points and drag it away from the center of the text.
Squeezed - Click the right mouse button on the line above the text (this will insert a circular control point). Click the right mouse button on the line below the word (this will insert a circular control point). Hold down the CTRL key and left click the other circular control point. Hold down the SHIFT key, click on one of these control points and drag it toward the center of the text.
Diamond - Click the left mouse button on the line above the text (this will insert a triangle control point). Click the left mouse button on the line below the text (this will insert a triangle control point). Hold down the CTRL key and left click the other triangle control point. Hold down the SHIFT key, click on one of these control points and drag it away from the center of the text.
Further distortions - Left or right click anywhere on the line around the text to insert multiple control points. Click and drag these points to distort.
*Once you distort the lettering, notice the immediate change on your screen. This is a nice place to utilize the Undo and Redo tools if the look is undesirable.
Click on the Lettering tool .
Left- click on the screen workspace (View Window) where you want your lettering text to appear (notice the cursor arrow has an A attached to it).
Type "Melco" in the text space.
Choose "Block" alphabet.
Change letter height to 1.00 inch.
Click on OK.
Right-click on the lettering and select Rotate/Transform from the pop-up menu.
(You can also left-click on the text, hold down the left mouse button
for 1 second, then release the left mouse button.)
Click and drag the green arrow that comes from the middle of the text to rotate.
To move the anchor point, click and drag with the left mouse button to place the center green box anywhere on the text.
Once you have placed the center rotation, click and drag the green arrow in the direction you would like to rotate (this is used as the pivot point of rotation).
