Besides pressing the lettering input tool , you can also press TO on your keyboard to begin a lettering element.
After you have clicked on this tool, click inside the view window. A Lettering Properties Dialogue will appear. Lettering Properties consist of four tabs: the Lettering Tab, the Column Tab, the Lock/Trim Tab, and the View Tab. For further information, click on any of the tabs in the image below.
