This feature allows the user to display numerous different types of hoops on the screen. Right click on the "Hoop Control" button to access the hoops.
The Hoop Manager dialog box will appear.
Machine Manufacturer: Click on the "Machine Manufacturer" arrow to display a list of many embroidery machine manufactures. The manufacturer will determine which hoops are shown in the "Machine Name" list. By selecting ARC - Melco in the "Machine Manufacturer" list, the user may then use the "Machine Name" list to select the specific ARC - Melco hoop types.
Hoop Attributes: Hoop Attributes may be viewed by selecting the hoop type from the "Name" list. The pre-defined hoops have programmed dimensions which will display but will be grayed out, which means the user can not change the information.
Click on apply to view the hoop on the screen. The solid line represents the inside edge of the inner hoop. The dotted line represents the inside edge of the inner hoop minus the sew margin.
New Hoop: User defined hoops may be setup by selecting "New Hoop" from the "Name" list. The type of hoop can also be defined (Rectangular, Circular, square, etc.).
The X Dimensions the width of the hoop from left to right and the Y Dimensions are the height of the hoop from top to bottom. These measurements should be the outside edge of one side to the outside edge of the other side.
The X and Y offset is the distance from the machine origin to the hoop center. All the Melco hoops have offsets preprogrammed to work.
The Hoop Thickness is the width of the outside edge of a hoop wall to the inside edge of a hoop wall.
The Sew Margin is the distance between the inside of the hoop wall to your hoop limit. By saying Hoop Limit, this is the very edge that stitches may be sewn. The sew margin area should give ample clearance for the needle/pressure foot. This is important so that your needle/pressure foot does not touch the hoop.
Trace: After selecting a hoop, you can click on the trace button and EDS IV will trace your design and give you a message stating that your hoop fits or that it does not fit in the selected hoop.
Advanced: Under the advanced button you will find the individual sew margins for let, right, top, and bottom of the hoop. These are adjustable in the case that you would like to have a larger sew margin on one side then on the other.
