Will save the active file with it's current file name, location, and file format. If these properties have not already been defined then you will receive the Save As dialog box. You can find this function in two locations: the toolbar button or under the File Menu. The keyboard shortcut key for this is <Ctrl> S.
Files created in EDS IV should be saved as Project files (*.OFM) for back up purposes. The ability to save as condensed or expanded is there as well.
When you select Save As from the File Menu or you receive the Save As dialog box when selecting the Save toolbar button, you will need to determine the file name, location, and format. You have the option to save files in the formats listed below:
|

If you open an EDS III .OFM file and save it, it will be converted into an EDS IV .OFM file, which is no longer readable in EDS III.
Files saved in this version of EDS IV cannot be read by previous versions of EDS IV.
This version of EDS IV is capable of producing two types of OFM files. Files saved as "Melco Project File (*.ofm)" can only be read with this version or higher versions of EDS IV. Files saved as "Melco Version 2.00 (*.ofm)" can be read by any EDS IV user that has version 2.00.006 or higher software. To change the type of OFM file that is saved, select the desired file type from the "Save as type" list-box control in the Save As dialog box.
The sewing field sizes, and options for saving home formats are listed below:
Note: When File splitting occurs a message will pop up when saving. The message states that the file will be split into the number of files (2 files for example), and the files will have an extension (on the name you selected) of "_A", "_B".
