inserts the contents of the clipboard into the area that you have selected with your cursor and replaces any item or element that is selected. You can only use paste after you have cut or copied an element to the clipboard. You can find this function in three locations: the toolbar button, under the Edit Menu, or by right clicking in the View Window.
The keyboard shortcut key for this is <Ctrl> V.
